Bellevue, Washington, USA October 16, 2011 DATA-LINC GROUP announced the release of the DLR310W member of its new DevicetLincTM Family of wireless-cable modems at the annual ISA show in Alabama, October 16-18. The DLR310W will also be a featured product as a live demo in Rockwell's Infrastructure Booth at the annual Automation Fair 2011 in Chicago, Illinois, November 16-17.
The 802.11bgn DLR310W is ideal for mobile, rotating, temporary installations and those where Ethernet cable would be difficult or impossible to install. It is robust, reliable, maintenance-free and delivers speeds up to 54 Mbps. Even when data is transferred to moving devices, the DLR310W maintains the wireless connection and provides reliable continuous communication without changing Access Points and without special firmware. The DLR310W, in Station Adapter mode on each cooperating moving device, delivers uninterrupted data as a standard integrated feature. For distances up to 0.4 km (1/4 mile), it replaces hard-wired Ethernet cable with a robust, reliable and maintenance-free wireless option that includes an internal antenna in a backwash IP65 enclosure. Setup is fast and simple. Connect two units to their power source, simultaneously press and hold the MODE button for five seconds, and the two units are configured and communicating. Regarding the DLR310W modems installed in a complex trade show booth, one over-heard comment said it all [The DeviceLinc radios] are working and the commercial engineers love them... very easy.
The DeviceLinc DLR310W wireless-cable modem is not only reliable and easy to install, it is also versatile. It may be used in point-to-point or multipoint topologies With Data-Linc's FLC810E 802.11bg modem as an Access Point, multiple DeviceLinc wireless-cable modems may be used for longer-range, multipoint networks, communicating up to 3 miles. The combination of outstanding features, benefits and networking flexibility has produced a data communication product with excep¬tional performance that is very cost-effective in terms of installing time and cost- particularly for average cost per unit in FLC/DLR multi-drop networks.
And there is more. For the 5 GHz band, the 802.11an DLR350W wireless-cable is available for quick and easy installations requiring shorter distances, up to 1/8 mile or 0.2 Km. Also, watch for the Industrial BluetoothTM version that can communicate up to 1 Km (1000+ yards) arriving in early 2012. The fast, robust, maintenance-free DeviceLinc Family modems are ready to make Ethernet cable installation for connecting Ethernet devices unnecessary. No tripping over cables, like in the old days.
