Data-Linc Extends the reach of Eaton/Cutler-Hammer’s PanelMate® ePro Operator Interface
When Eaton/Cutler-Hammer wanted to extend the communication range of its PanelMate ePro operator interface beyond the range of specialized wiring, protocol repeaters or fiber optics, they selected Data-Linc’s SRM6210E wireless Ethernet modem because of its range (rated range 25 miles) and reliability even in industrial high noise environments. They also wanted a solution that supported an off–the-shelf-easy interface. Data-Linc’s SRM again fit the bill.
Eaton/Cutler-Hammer found that extending ePro communications wirelessly with the SRM6210E provided them with a number of significant benefits:
- Economically extended remote communications
- Eliminated expenses associated with installed wired systems
- Reduced integration costs using off-the-shelf technology
- Increased productivity since there are less components in the system
- Further cut costs since the technology was so easy to implement that no training was needed
The ePro connected to a host network using Data-Linc’s SRM6210E functions as if it were communicating over a wire Ethernet connection. Eaton/Cutler-Hammer is convinced— PanelMate® ePro communication through Data-Linc’s SRM6210E wireless Ethernet modem is an excellent way to extend the range of communication for its PanelMate ePro.
