Leased Line Wire ModemsFor industrial data communication applications over dial-up, leased line, private line, non-switched private wire (spare pair) or any dedicated wireLeased Lines are permanent connections provided by the telephone company between sites. The most common type are analog (also known as "voice-grade") lines that are guaranteed to operate at speeds to 19.2 kbps. Digital lines that offer higher speeds are also available but, typically, at higher costs. Leased lines are offered either as point-to-point links between two sites or as multi-point links, where one master site communicates with up to 16 remote sites. Leased Line costs include initial installation and a fixed monthly fee. |
