General Specifications

• The Modem must have the capability of operating at a line speed of 33.6 Kbaud in full duplex mode supporting an uncompressed PLC line speed of 19.2 Kbaud with a DTE speed up to 115.2 Kbaud. Its operating range shall be up to 20 miles on unloaded private lines or an unlimited distance on loaded leased lines.

• The Modem and connecting cables must be factory configured to provide simple installation (custom factory pre-configured- no modem field settings, programming or adapters required).

• The Modem must meet or exceed industrial operating specifications of -40° C to +70° C (-40° F to +176° F) operating temperature range and 0 - 95% non-condensing humidity.

• The Modem will operate at 15 watts with a wall mount transformer (110/120 VAC to 9 to 18 VDC, 800 mA). 24 volt DC, 300mA operation should be optionally available.

• The Modem must be able to accept any 10 or 11 bit asynchronous serial data stream
  and interface to RS-232/422/485 signals.

• For maximum EMI/RFI immunity, the Modem must be housed in a metal enclosure and also provide mounting flanges for ease of installation.

• Indicator LEDs’ shall include, at a minimum: Power, Carrier, Data In and Data Out.

• The Modem must be Model #DLM4500 from Data-Linc Group or approved equivalent.

When configured as Dial-up

• If required, the Dial-up Modem shall include the ability to embed a specified telephone number, which is automatically dialed when a logic high signal is received from whatever device to which the Dial-up Modem is connected.

• If required, the Dial-up Modem shall be capable of supporting remote alarming, random time remote auto-send and remote multi-drop.

When configured as Leased line

• The Leased Line/Dedicated Wire Modems shall not require any addressing for start-up.

• The Modems shall automatically connect when they are attached to the lines and are powered up.

• In the event of an interruption, Leased Line/Dedicated Wire Modems shall automatically reconnect, without any operator assistance required, when the data line and /or power are restored.
