CIX Long-range Wireless I/O Applications

Examples of Custom Solution Products:
Discrete/Analog Multiplexer Applications

Metals— Crane Control

Reynolds is sending transducer output from crane cab to ground using Data-Linc DOVE with A-A1000 4-20 mA transmitter and receiver modules to transmit data over crane cab telephone lines. (Please note that the DDAA has replaced the A-A1000.)

Mining/Quarrying— Drilling

To communicate drill motor control and status signals from drill face on several shafts to central location on a multidrop network, Unit Electric is using Data-Linc A-A1000 Multiplexers and LCMs on 660VAC power lines that supply drill motors, avoiding installation of dedicated cables. (Please note that the DDAA has replaced the A-A1000.)

Oil and Gas/Petrochemical— Conoco

Four 4-20 mA signals communicate full duplex over 2000 feet in high EMI environment using FDM7000 Fiber Optic Modems and A-A1000 RTU Multiplexers. (Please note that the DDAA has replaced the A-A1000.)

Oil and Gas/Petrochemical— Shell

Shell uses Data-Linc modems to transmit 4-20 mA from pH meter to control room on existing instrumentation lines, simultaneously, using A-A1000 Analog-Analog RTU Multiplexers and LLM1000 Leased Line Modems solving ground plane shift problem. (Please note that the LLM1100 has replaced the LLM1000, and the DDAA has replaced the A-A1000.)

Power/Utilities— Power Administration

BPA monitors and transmits eight 0-5VDC signals from remote site over 3 miles to central station using A-A1000-8 analog transmitter and receiver with LLM1000 Leased Line Modems. (Please note that the LLM1100 has replaced the LLM1000, and the DDAA has replaced the A-A1000.)

Power/Utilities— Power Company

Pacific Power transmits multiplexed contact closure and 4-20 mA data on spare pair in telephone cable using A-A1000 RTU Multiplexers and LLM1000 Long Lines Modems. (Please note that the LLM1100 has replaced the LLM1000, and the DDAA has replaced the A-A1000.)

Power/Utility— Pump Control

To multiplex and transmit 4-20 mA and contact closure data for pump control over 480VAC power lines, the plant is using D-D1000 RTU Multiplexer and LCM100-HV Line Carrier Modem. (Please note that the LLM1100 has replaced the LLM1000, and the DDAA has replaced the D-D1000.)
