Utilization of Data-Linc Modems with ABB, Inc. Equipment
A Data-Linc SRM6000 Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum license-free Radio Modem connects to the serial port on the Master computer. The Master computer runs the ABB WinECP configuration software or some other custom SCADA system.
At the remote site the ABB PCD2000 Recloser Control connects to a 3-Phase Recloser. The PCD2000 is an intelligent device that controls and monitors the 3-Phase Recloser and has integrated communications capabilities. The second SRM6000 connects to the serial communications port on the PCD2000. With this system one can remotely communicate with the PCD2000 in order to monitor real-time data and upload historical information at the site as well as download new control settings.
