Data-Linc Group Announces Additional Diagnostics and New Cross-Over Switch to Wireless Ethernet Modem

New diagnostics and cross-over switch simplifies troubleshooting and installation

December 6, 1999–Redmond, WA - Data-Linc Group, a leading manufacturer of industrial data communication solutions, is pleased to offer additional diagnostics and a cross-over switch to it's SRM6200E wireless Ethernet radio modem.

LAN Link and Collision diagnostics are now standard features on the SRM6200E. These new tools monitor whether the network connection is performing at optimal levels. LED lights, located on the front panel of the modem, notify the user of any change in the connection.

The new cross-over switch is conveniently located on the front panel and enables the SRM62000E to connect to any 10Base-T cable. By flipping the cross-over, the SRM6200E can accommodate straight cable or cross cable. Installation is further simplified by this new cross-over switch.

The SRM6200E is a license-free, wireless Ethernet radio modem. A complete data communications solution, the SRM6200E is ideal for systems where cable installation is difficult or cost prohibitive. Without expensive Ethernet cabling, this highly reliable wireless alternative uses MAC layer bridging for true protocol transparency and fully supports TCP/IP-based protocols up to 15 miles away, with line-of-sight. The SRM6200E provides wireless connectivity between PLCs, HMI stations and servers using the 902-928 MHz Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band.

SRM6000 employs Data-Linc's Smart Spectrum™ wireless frequency hopping technology. Smart Spectrum is field proven to perform in high interference environments and does not require an FCC/DOC site license.

Housed in a tough 18 AWG steel enclosure, the SRM6200E will perform in even harsh environments. It can be powered by 12 or 24 VDC, depending on the model (115 VAC power transformer included). For international applications, the SRM6200E includes the appropriate country-specific power module. A 2.4 GHz SRM6200E model is also available. Interface options include 10Base-T (UTP) and 10Base-FL (fiber) interface to the Ethernet device.
