Data-Linc Group Appoints Chief Operating Officer

May 7, 2001— Redmond, WA— Data-Linc Group, the leader in industrial data communications, is pleased to announce the appointment of Helmut P. Adamski as Chief Operating Officer.

With Helmut Adamski, Data-Linc Group is tapping the talents of a recognized global executive with a distinguished career in world-class technology companies. Throughout his career, Adamski has demonstrated managerial success, with the agility needed to launch new and innovative solutions and the ability to generate substantial business growth in emerging markets through a high-performance sales organization.

Helmut previously served as vice president and general manager from 1998 to January 2001 at Data I/O, a solutions provider for programming systems focused on telecommunications and automotive industries. From 1993 to 1998, he served as president and chief executive officer at SMS, a systems manufacturer for software and hardware programming solution based in Europe. Adamski has also served in the capacity of vice president of operations of SysKonnect, a European telecommunications and network company and in various management positions at DEC, a computer manufacturer and service provider, located in both Europe and USA. Helmut holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of Heilbronn Germany/Geneva in Switzerland and a Masters in Business Administration.
