Tank Farm
A pair of MDL500 modems were installed on an instrumentation cable in a tank farm to connect a small Modicon PLC to the Honeywell Advanced Process Manager (APM). The Modicon PLC is a 984-141 and the connection to the Honeywell is the serial interface card in the APM. The MDL500 should be equally compatible with Honeywell DHP, HPM and PLCG or EPLCG.
Plant Networks
Ethernet has already proven itself in the business office on the plant floor where Data-Linc's wireless Ethernet modem is showing itself to be a good tool that provides multiplexing and connectivity in remote network applications.

Wireless Video
Data-Linc has completed the development of wireless video using a web cam which employs Ethernet as its primary connection for video download. Testing involved combining the Ethernet web cam and Ethernet based PLC communications across the same SRM6200E Ethernet radio radio link. Data-Linc’s license-free, wireless 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz Ethernet and RS232 radio modems provide exceptional video data signal transmission at 7+ frames per second without costly specialized antennas. Our modems can communicate with line-of-sight and an omni directional antenna at distances up to 35 miles— farther with Repeaters. No expensive specialized antenna required. (see Security section)
